Merched y Wawr
With over 280 clubs across Wales Merched y Wawr gives women of all ages the chance to get together to socialise in Welsh - the organisation warmly welcomes learners too.

Local clubs usually meet once a month. The full and very varied programme of activities and events are organised at a local level by branches and the clubs run throughout the year.

The organisation also runs Clybiau Gwawr aimed at younger women who usually meet in a more casual environment of a pub or a club.

As a national organisation Merched y Wawr ('Women of the Dawn') promotes the Welsh language and the rights of women. It champions causes, raises money for charity and gets involved in debate.

It also publishes a quarterly magazine Y Wawr which is sold via the branches and at Welsh language bookshops.

To find out where your nearest branch visit Merched y Wawr or Clybiau Gwawr websites.
